Book Project “The Jersey Effect” by Darrin Gray, Hunter Smith and Ken Turner

Last November Darrin Gray of All Pro Dad approached me about a very exciting project. Darrin and Hunter Smith had been discussing the prospect of writing a book and they invited me to become a partner in the project.

The book is titled, “The Jersey Effect” and is an inside look at “Uncovering the Truth and Lies of a Championship NFL Experience.” We are tackling real questions and answers about the true meaning of winning and losing, what is the “ultimate prize”, how to be a warrior athlete for Kingdom impact as opposed to just asking God for wins on the field. Inside stories of the faithful men that stood up for God throughout the most successful NFL 10 year period any team has experienced in NFL history, the Super Bowl XLI Champion Indianapolis Colts. A look into those who stood up when the cameras were on them and knelt before God when the cameras were turned off.

It’s a look through the lens of Hunter Smith and how God orchestrated His plan beginning with his football and faith journey in the small town of Sherman, Texas, on to a successful career playing at Notre Dame then drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

Our target publishing date is for the “Jersey Effect” to be in the market by November, 2011. In time for the Super Bowl that will be held in Indianapolis in February 5, 2012!
